Market Cap and Price Calculator
Work out a coin's market cap and fully diluted valuation from its price and supply, and the price it would need to reach a market cap you have in mind.
- Market cap
- –
- Fully diluted valuation
- –
- Price at the tested market cap
- –
- Supply in circulation
- –
How it is calculated
- Market cap = price × circulating supply
- Fully diluted valuation (FDV) = price × maximum supply
- Price at a market cap = market cap ÷ circulating supply
Worked example
Bitcoin-like supply at 60,000, testing a 2 trillion market cap.
| You enter | |
|---|---|
| Price per coin | 60,000 |
| Circulating supply | 19,700,000 |
| Maximum supply | 21,000,000 |
| Market cap to test | 2,000,000,000,000 |
| You get | |
| Market cap | 1,182,000,000,000 |
| Fully diluted valuation | 1,260,000,000,000 |
| Price at the tested market cap | 101,522.84263959 |
| Supply in circulation | 93.8095% |
At this price the market cap is 1,182,000,000,000 and the fully diluted valuation 1,260,000,000,000. To reach the market cap you tested, the price would have to be 101,522.84263959.
Questions
Why can FDV be much larger than market cap?
FDV counts every coin that will ever exist. If most coins are still locked or not yet mined, future unlocks can add selling pressure.
