Impermanent Loss Calculator
For a 50/50 constant-product pool (Uniswap v2 style), see how much less your deposit is worth than if you had just held the two tokens, after one token's price changes against the other.

How it is calculated
- Price ratio r = price now ÷ price at deposit (one token against the other)
- Impermanent loss = 2 × √r ÷ (1 + r) − 1
- Value if held = deposit ÷ 2 + deposit ÷ 2 × r; value in pool = deposit × √r (both measured in token B)
Worked example
Token A rose 25% against token B after you deposited 1,000 of value.
| You enter | |
|---|---|
| Token price when you deposited | 100 |
| Token price now | 125 |
| Value deposited | 1,000 |
| You get | |
| Impermanent loss | -0.6192% |
| Value in the pool | 1,118.034 |
| Value if held | 1,125 |
| Difference | -6.966 |
Your pool share is worth 1,118.034, compared with 1,125 if you had held: 0.6192% less, before any trading fees the pool earned.
Questions
Is the loss permanent?
It becomes real when you withdraw. If the price ratio returns to where it was when you deposited, the loss disappears, which is why it is called impermanent.
Does it matter which way the price moves?
No. A doubling and a halving give the same percentage loss (about 5.7%).
